The archives and collection

Along with maintaining the permanent exhibition, annual temporary exhibitions and a comprehensive programme of events, the museum is working on building up its scientific infrastructure.

Two databases, the register of the gravestone in the Jewish cemetery and the file of the houses in the Jewish quarter are available here for research purposes.
The genealogy and biographical database of the Jewish community of Hohenems will follow soon.

There is a catalogue for the library (approximately 9,000 volumes)(authors, location, location of registration), which is also being digitalised at the moment. The photographic collection of the museum will be soon completed by means of computer processing.

Further scientific projects which have been partly completed or are presently in progress:

The architecturally and art-historical status survey of the former synagogue.
