| The Jewish Museum entertains contact with descendants from Hohenems all over the world. This network is a substantial dimension of our work and a bridge between past and present for the descendants. Memebers of different families have developed a sense of community - with the help too of the Jewish Museum and the American friends of the Jewish Museum Hohenems that have been founded in 1998. As a result in summer 2008 more than 120 descendants met for the second world wide reunion of Hohenems descendants in Hohenems. The Museum helps the descendants to communicate with each other and with their genealogical research. Particularly since the great descendants reunion in 1998 - with more than 160 participants - the communication with the descendants enriches also our museum's program and exhibition activities. So the Jewish Museum became the focus of a kind of virtual community that connects Jewish history and Jewish life today in a productive way.
